Paramilitary Pensioners of Customs, Immigration and Prison Services, PPCIPS, have accused the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD, of refusing to harmonise the pensions. They claimed their suffering was as a result of the anomalies and wrong implementation of 2003 and 2007 increment for pensioners by PTAD, the agency responsible.
The confirmation was made in a statement issued by the spokesman of the board, Flt.-Lt Ikenna Ezendu. Ezendu said that the harmonisation took effect from August 2016. He said the decision was part of efforts to bridge the gap in pensions between certain ranks of pensioners who retired before and after consolidation of salaries in July 2010.
